3. Galvanized flanges feature good anti-corrosion property. Galvanized flanges can be classified into the hot dip galvanized flange and the cold galvanized flange.
When producing the hot dip galvanized flange, after the formation, degreasing and acid pickling for derusting of the flange, it is immersed into the molten liquid zinc which is about 500℃ to make the surface of the steel part galvanized, so as to resist corrosion. Cold galvanizing also called electrogalvanizing is a process where electrolysis equipment is used, the pipe fitting is placed in the zinc salt solution after degreasing and acid pickling, the pipe fitting is connected to the cathode of the electrolysis equipment, a zinc plate is placed on the opposite side of the pipe fitting to connect the anode of the electrolysis equipment, the power is supplied, and then the current will move from the anode to the cathode to form a layer of zinc.
Commonly used materials of galvanized flanges: ASTM A105, Q235B, 20, 16Mn, Q345B, etc.
