Straight seam steel pipe
The straight seam steel pipe is the steel pipe whose weld seam is parallel to the longitudinal direction of the steel pipe. There are mainly two types of straight seam steel pipes: longitudinally submerged arc welding steel pipe and high-frequency welded steel pipe. Products can be customized.
The longitudinally submerged arc welding steel pipe is made with the submerged arc welding technology. It is welded by using the filler, and the arc is buried with the particle protection solder. The caliber of the finished product can be up to 2,000 mm. LSAW is short for longitudinally submerged arc welding. The LSAW steel pipe production process involves the JCOE forming technology and the rolled forming submerged arc welding technology. When the caliber is relatively big, two steel plates may be used for rolling to form double weld seams. Executable standards include GB/T3091-2008 Low-pressure Fluid Pipe Production Standard, GB/T9711.1-2 -1997 Standard for Production and Use of Oil and Gas Steel Pipes and API 5L Line Pipe Specification. Production materials include Q235B, Q345(16Mn), L245(B), L290(X42), L320(X46), L360(X52), L390(X56), L415(X60), L450(X65), L485(X70), L555(X80), L290NB/MB(X42N/M), L360NB/MB(X52N/M), L390NB/MB(X56N/M), L415NB/MB(X60N/M), L450MB(X65), L485MB(X70) and L555MB(X80). High-frequency welding is realized based on the electromagnetic induction principle as well as the skin effect, proximity effect and eddy current heat effect of AC charge in conductors. Steel at the edge of the weld seam is partially heated to the molten condition, and then inter-crystal connection of the weld seam is realized through extrusion of the roller, so as to realize seam welding. High-frequency welding is a type of induction welding (or pressure contact welding). It does not need weld filler and does not produce weld spatter, the welding heat affected zone is narrow, the finished welding product is beautiful, and the mechanical property of welding is good. The high-frequency welded steel pipe makes use of the skin effect and proximity effect of alternating current. After the steel plates (strip steel) is formed through rolling, a circular tube blank with a disconnected cross section is form. One or one set of impeder/s (magnetic bar) is/are placed in the pipe blank nearby the center of the Induction coil. The impeder and the opening of the pipe blank form an electromagnetic induction loop. Under the skin effect and the proximity effect, a strong and centralized heat effect will be generated at the edge of the opening of the pipe blank, so that the weld seam edge will be quickly heated to the temperature for welding. Through extrusion by the roller, the molten metal will realize inter-crystal connection, and a firm butt weld seam will be formed after cooling.
